Here's an example of VBox + GoPro + RaceRenderer on a BMW M3. If you're not on a budget and can dump $3000, this is by far the best option for you. If you go that route, then you can do anything you want, design the gauges any way you want, and get as many gauges on the screen as you want (provided they appear on the CAN bus). The only problem with this route is often I find the Video VBox rendering options lacking what you can do by yourself with a VBox + GoPro + RaceRenderer software. With the vBox, you can also get the Video VBox that has one or more camera's. I can give you a file to load into the vBox for complete CAN bus integration that has all the gauges you need. If you can drop $3000, then Video vBox with CAN bus integration will do it. Video VBox also has support for GT350R, but I haven't looked at it yet.Ī lot depends on your budget. But let me emphasize, AIM solo is very limited, and they actually have some of the CAN bus stuff wrong for GT350R.
AIM Solo also has some very limit CAN bus integration that gets you RPM. In addition, the adhesive used to attach it to the dashboard isn’t the greatest.My guess that it's AIM Solo DL because it looks much better and higher resolution on the gauges than Harry's Lap Timer. Also, it may take a little longer to connect to satellites on cloudy days. One problem is it takes a couple of minutes once you start driving to display the speed until it makes a connection to the satellite. The menu is easy to scroll through, and it has numerous settings and screens so you can customize it to your preferences. The display is very clear, and the speed is accurate.

The unit has an automatic and manual brightness adjustment mode, so you don't have to worry about visibility in bright sunny conditions. And since it's based on the internal GPS module, it's compatible with all vehicles. The device turns on automatically with the vehicle ignition and is powered by a vehicle's power outlet/cigarette lighter. It features a compass, low voltage alarm, and over-speed alarm, and it shows speed in miles and kilometers.

However, the OBDii mode is not compatible with certain vehicles, such as hybrid electric vehicles, diesel cars, and RVs. It's easy to angle it to get the best view and doesn't impede your line of sight when you're driving. It also has a good default view, so it's not necessary to adjust the settings if you don't want to. This device has a simple layout, is easy to install, and has good visibility in both daylight and at night. The OBDII mode is designed for vehicles that are a model year 2008 and newer. Undo at front axle speedo drive, pull cable out of the sheath, wipe clean with solvent soaked rag. When you speed, the beeps it makes are clear and repetitive, but they're not so persistent that it's annoying.The unit is also small, so it doesn't take up too much space on your dashboard, and it's very accurate. It features a single button that helps you navigate through different interfaces, and overall the display is very clear.
